How we calculate this
Every figure is yearly, in USD, before taxes.
- Cost of a serious incident C = downtime hours × revenue per hour + recovery person-hours × hourly cost + data-breach cost.
- Expected loss avoided = probability per year × C × coverage.
- Operational savings = 12 × hourly cost × (engineers × review hours per engineer per month × share automated + evidence hours per month × share automated).
- Total benefit = loss avoided + operational savings. Net = benefit − plan cost. ROI = net ÷ plan cost. Payback = plan cost ÷ (benefit ÷ 12), in months.
- Plan: Builder unless something needs more; Team with agents (allowlists and masking), audit evidence, more than 3 databases or more than 5M queries; Enterprise above 50M queries, for SSO, VPC or an SLA beyond Team, or when Team with extra databases would cost more than Enterprise’s starting price. Free is not recommended: it is for staging and development.
